This Privacy Policy describes how the E-Waste Collection mobile application, developed and operated by Abans Group, handles information within the app.

The E-Waste Collection app is a strictly internal tool designed exclusively for authorised Abans field staff and company personnel. It is not available to the general public and is not intended for customer use.

Important: This application is used by Abans employees to manage electronic waste collection requests and award loyalty points to customers who hand over end-of-life electronics such as televisions and air conditioners. The app does not serve as a customer-facing platform.

Who Uses This App 02

Access to this application is restricted to:

  • Authorised Abans Group employees with valid company-issued credentials
  • Field collection staff assigned to specific profit centers and locations
  • Internal supervisors and managers overseeing e-waste collection operations
Unauthorised Access: Any access by persons who are not authorised Abans employees is strictly prohibited. Credentials are issued and managed solely by the Abans internal systems portal.

Data We Collect 03

The app collects only the minimum operational data required to perform collection activities:

  • Employee credentials — username and employee ID used for authentication, synced from the Abans portal
  • Profit center and location selection — the showroom or branch the employee is operating from
  • Collection activity logs — request numbers, item types, quantities confirmed or rejected, and timestamps
  • Device location — used only to sort collection requests by proximity and assist with navigation (see Location Data section)
  • Remarks and notes — collector notes entered during item confirmation or rejection
Note: All data collected flows directly into Abans internal backend systems. No data is stored on third-party servers outside of Abans infrastructure.

Data We Do Not Collect 04

We are committed to minimal data collection. The following data is never collected by this application:

  • Customer personal data — no customer names, phone numbers, addresses, or contact information is stored by the app
  • Financial information — no payment, banking, or card details of any party
  • Biometric data — no fingerprints, face scans, or voice recordings
  • Device contacts, camera roll, or media files
  • Browsing history or app usage analytics sent to third parties
  • Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies
Customer Data: While the app displays customer request information (name, address, contact) pulled from Abans internal systems for operational purposes, this data is read-only and is never stored, exported, or shared by the app itself.

How Data Is Used 05

Data collected through the app is used solely for the following operational purposes:

  • Authenticating Abans employees and granting access to assigned collection tasks
  • Displaying and managing e-waste collection requests for pickup and on-site visits
  • Recording confirmed collections and updating request statuses in the Abans backend
  • Processing and awarding loyalty points to customers for responsible e-waste disposal
  • Sorting and filtering requests by proximity to the employee's current location
  • Generating collection history records for internal reporting and audit purposes

Data is never used for advertising, profiling, or sold to any third party.

Data Security 06

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect all data handled by this application:

  • All API communications are transmitted over HTTPS encrypted connections
  • Employee credentials are managed and validated by the Abans internal authentication system
  • Session tokens are stored securely on the device and are not accessible to other applications
  • Access is restricted to authorised personnel only — no public registration is available

Third-Party Services 07

The application uses the following third-party services strictly for operational functionality:

  • Google Maps (Google LLC) — used to display pickup location maps and provide navigation directions to collection points. Google's own privacy policy governs map usage.
  • Google Play Services — used for app distribution and device location services on Android.

No analytics SDKs, advertising networks, social media trackers, or crash reporting services that transmit data externally are integrated into this application.

Google Maps: When the employee taps "Get Directions", the app opens Google Maps for navigation. Antes that point, location and navigation data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy

Location Data 08

The app requests device location permission for the following specific purposes:

  • Sorting collection requests by distance from the employee's current location to help prioritise nearby tasks
  • Displaying the employee's proximity to each pickup point
  • Launching turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps when the employee requests directions
Location is never: tracked continuously in the background, recorded to a server without the employee's action, shared with customers, or used for any purpose outside of in-app request sorting and navigation.

Location access is requested only when the app is in use. The employee may deny location permission — the app will continue to function, but requests will not be sorted by distance.

Data Retention 09

Collection activity records and employee session data are retained in accordance with Abans Group's internal data management policies.

  • Operational records (confirmed and rejected collections) are retained for audit and reporting purposes as determined by Abans internal policy
  • Session credentials stored on the device are cleared upon logout
  • No personal customer data is retained locally on the employee's device beyond the active app session

Changes to This Policy 10

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the application, operational processes, or legal requirements.

When we make changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Authorised users will be notified of significant changes through internal communication channels or an in-app notice.

Continued use of the E-Waste Collection app following any changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
